How do women really feel about nudity?

Interesting post about female nudity.

The great question that has never been answered, and which I have not yet been able to answer, despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul, is ‘What does a woman want?’

That, according to Freud’s biographer Ernest Jones[1], was the conclusion that Freud himself had finally come to. Freud couldn’t admit this candidly in his own writing. But Jones feet obliged to report it, even though his biography of Freud is generally regarded as a bit overly complimentary.

Is there very much in social conversation that can be more fraught with peril than for men to speculate about what women do or should “want”? Probably not. However, when it comes to issues of naturism and nudity, it’s a topic that cannot be avoided. In our society nudity is generally regarded as risible, awkward, or uncomfortable, at best – and scandalous, shameful, embarrassing, or disgusting at…

Active Naturists

South Florida is one the most popular tourist destinations, but it’s not known for its hiking. In this blogpost, I invite you to join me on a scenic trail that proves that hiking in South Florida is exciting even though it’s as flat as it gets.

This 8-mile section of Florida trail goes through various landscapes of Big Cypress National Preserve. About a year ago, I went to Florida with my sister, and we stayed at the same CouchSurfing hosts, as in my first visit to Florida with Joe; Peter already knew we would love the idea of hiking in the swamp, so he got in touch with his friend Dave from Florida Great Outdoors group. Dave was an excellent guide, he knew every corner of the trail and told us a lot about the wildlife, of which we saw plenty!

“There has to be an alternative to whatever ways and life there are on offer these days” – Joan Baez

During the latter part of the 19th century there was in some quarters a resentment to the strict moral Victorian society rules and also the filthy cities, so much that many people longed for something completely different. This was the start of the Tolstoyan movement. The Tolstoyan movement was a social movement based on the philosophical and religious views of Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy (1828–1910). Tolstoy’s views were formed by rigorous study of the ministry of Jesus, particularly the Sermon on the Mount. Tolstoy expressed “great joy” that groups of people “have been springing up, not only in Russia but in various parts of Europe, who are in complete agreement with our views.”

Naturism in Malta has recently been the subject of some TV feature programs, newspaper articles and online debate.  A group on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Legalize-Nudist-beaches-and-topless-bathing-in-Malta/559937837361952) is proposing the legalisation of nudist beaches in Malta. A significant number of letters and other type of communication from Maltese people indicate that a lot of people believe that naturism is wrong because it goes directly against the Catholic Church teachings. For example, an excerpt from a letter against naturism states ‘aħna poplu Kristjan u għalina dan huwa selvaġiżmu sfrenat (translation, ‘we are Christians and for us this is salvagism at its best’).’ (http://www.orizzont.com.mt/oldarticles/article107221.html)

Many catholic theologians argue against nudity due to the principles of modesty.  ‘Because he lives in fallen nature, man is to be clothed’ (Genesis 3:6-7, 13-21). ‘Nudism opposes one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit…
